Careless Love, first released in 2004, is a rich collection of covers, with tunes from Bob Dylan to James P. Johnson and including a milestone rendition of Leonard Cohen's ""Dance Me to the End of Love."" Featuring the original, ""Don't Wait Too Long"" co-written by Jesse Harris & Larry Klein. With over half a million albums sold, it shifted Peyroux from the jazz realm into the mainstream arena and remains her most popular release. Deluxe Edition includes the previously unreleased 2005 live set, recorded by Basque Public Radio for the Festival de Jazz de Vitoria-Gasteiz in Spain. - Madeleine performs the repertoire from Careless Love, plus additional bonus songs.

Limited edition vinyl LP pressing in gatefold jacket. Madeleine Peyroux's 2004 critically-acclaimed sophomore album, Careless Love, found the smoky-voiced singer at the top of her game, covering a diverse collection of songs by everyone from Elliott Smith to Hank Williams. Breakout track ""Don't Wait Too Long"" helped push Madeleine into the mainstream by topping the jazz charts and appearing in national commercial spots and film soundtracks. All the tracks are cover versions, except for ""Don't Wait Too Long,"" which Peyroux co-wrote with Jesse Harris and Larry Klein. Peyroux is a beloved jazz singer, songwriter, and guitarist. She is noted for her vocal style, which has been compared to that of Billie Holiday.
