Jenny Hval's 2014 record opens with a quote from the Danish poet Mette Moestrup, and continues towards the abyss. Apocalypse, girl is a hallucinatory narrative that exists somewhere between fiction and reality, a post-op fever dream, a colorful time lapse of death and rebirth, close-ups of impossible bodies all told through the language of impossible pop music.

Jenny Hval's new album, Apocalypse, girl, is out June 2015 via Sacred Bones. It's the follow-up to her 2013 LP Innocence is Kinky and 2014's Meshes of Voice, her collaborative LP with Susanna. The LP features production from Norwegian noise fixture Lasse Marhaug. Swans' Thor Harris, Jaga Jazzist's Oystein Moen, Havard Volden, Kyrre Laastad, Okkyung Lee, and Rhodri Davies all played on the album. Check out her tour dates supporting St. Vincent and Perfume Genius. Jenny Hval has developed her own take on intimate sound since the release of her debut album in 2006. Her work, which includes 2013's critically celebrated Innocence Is Kinky (Rune Grammofon), has gradually incorporated books, sound installations and collaborations with poets and visual artists.
