Iron and Wine is the one guy and his tape deck project of Samuel Beam. It's an ode to an older South, defined by traditional values, pastoral imagery, and arcane manners. Beam teaches cinematography at a local Miami college, and this connection with film shows in the construct of his songs. It's arresting stuff; intimate ""American Gothic"" style portraits and landscapes with traditional sounding backdrops, and laced with seductive melodies. ""A-""-Entertainment Weekly.

One of those one-guy-and-his-tape deck affairs. An ode to an older South of traditional values, pastoral imagery, and arcane manners. This is arresting stuff, intimate ""American Gothic"" style portraits and landscapes, traditional backdrops, laced with the most immediately seductive melodies.
