Vinyl LP pressing. Nimrod (stylized as nimrod.) is the fifth studio album by rock band Green Day, originally released on October 14, 1997. The band began work on the album in the wake of the cancellation of a European tour after the release of their previous album, Insomniac. Recorded at Conway Recording Studios in Los Angeles, the album was written with the intent of creating a set of standalone songs as opposed to a cohesive album. Retrospectively, Nimrod is noted for it's musical diversity and experimentation, containing elements of folk, surf rock, and ska. Lyrical themes discussed include maturity, personal reflection, and fatherhood.

Showcasing Green Day's continuing musical evolution, their much-anticipated 3rd Reprise album amplifies everything that made the band great in the 1st place, while taking Billie Joe's ever-sharp songwriting and Green Day's punk/pop/rock/roar in bold new directions. Nimrod is an epic set of great rock songs highlighted by the 1st single, ""Hitchin' a Ride"" (also a startling new video). World tour begins in October and runs through December.
