Flashes in the dark is pretty much a testament to what can be done with two turntables and a mic to create something different yet brilliant in the hip hop space. The album also shows maturity and a certain vulnerability not being expressed by a lot of other artists at this time. There is so much going on in the world and this album is J Scienide's expression of what was going on in his world during the time of recording.
