12"" 180-gram HQ virgin vinyl reissues of the original stereo mixes of the legendary band's six Jim Morrison-fronted studio albums. The reissues of these now historic albums - all originally released between 1967 and 1970 - are replicas of the initial vinyl offerings, including artwork and inner sleeves. The laquers were cut at Bernie Grundman Mastering in Hollywood, CA under the direct supervision of original Doors producer/engineer Bruce Botnick and Electra Records founder Jac Holzman. The Doors, first released in January 1967, is one of rock music's most famous debuts. It hit #2 in Billboard, and delivered the #1 signature smash ""Light My Fire"" plus ""Break on Through,"" ""The Crystal Ship,"" and ""The End.""

Digitally remastered edition. The Doors is the debut album by the American rock band the Doors, released on January 4, 1967. The album features their breakthrough single ""Light My Fire"" and the lengthy song ""The End"" with it's Oedipal spoken word section. The Doors was not only one of the albums to have been most central to the progression of psychedelic rock, but is also one of the most acclaimed recordings in all of popular music. In 2012, it was ranked number 42 in Rolling Stone magazine's 500 greatest albums of all time. The original album has sold 20 million copies, and has been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame; ""Light My Fire"" was also inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

Packaged in a 12 x 12 hardcover book, The Doors: 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition includes a remastered version of the album's original stereo mix, available on CD for the first time in a decade and remastered for the first time in nearly 30 years. The album's original mono mix was also remastered for this set and is making it's CD debut here. The third disc features live performance from The Matrix in San Francisco recorded just weeks after The Doors was released. Music journalist David Fricke provides detailed liner notes for the set, which includes a selection of rare and previously unseen photographs.
