This is an album that documents a formative era with clarity and force and reveals the roots of Zeppelin's greatness. The legendary UK rock outfit was at a pivotal moment and creative peak when these sounds were recorded for Evolution Is Timing - 1969 Radio Sessions. They came during a transitional period between Led Zeppelin III and IV, and the sessions offer stripped-down renditions, alternate takes and fiery live performances that highlight the band's evolution from blues-rock heavyweights to genre-defining innovators. Page's guitar is razor-sharp throughout, and Plant's vocals soar with the verve of youth while Bonham and Jones provide thunderous, intuitive rhythms.
